Petition updateFixed notice period of not more than 1 month in all companies in IndiaSet a limit of 1 month on notice periods for Indian employees!

The notice period for Indian employees is currently one of the longest in the world. This can have a number of negative consequences for employees, including:

* Financial hardship: Employees who are forced to serve long notice periods may have to take on additional work or find other sources of income to make ends meet.

* Stress: The uncertainty of not knowing when they will be able to leave their job can cause employees a great deal of stress.

* Loss of opportunities: Employees who are unable to leave their job for a long period of time may miss out on other opportunities, such as new jobs or educational opportunities.

The UK, on the other hand, has much shorter notice periods. The statutory minimum notice period for employees who have been with their employer for less than 2 years is one week. For employees who have been with their employer for more than 2 years, the notice period is one week for each year of service, up to a maximum of 12 weeks.

The shorter notice periods in the UK allow employees to move between jobs more easily, which can benefit both employees and employers. Employees can find new jobs that better meet their needs, and employers can find new employees who are a better fit for their company.

We urge the government to set a limit of 1 month on the notice periods for Indian employees. This would help to reduce the financial hardship, stress, and loss of opportunities that employees currently face.
