The Melt Collective is a student group trying to create a plastic repurposing centre on the UBC Vancouver Campus. The goal is to change views on waste and have a space where students can actively engage in recycling.

We are working in partnership with AMS Sustainability, UBC Sustainability, CIRS and in accordance with UBC's 2020 Zero Waste mandate. Yet, we have encountered countless roadblocks to having our own space. Our machines are near completion and a permanent space is necessary to start production.

The ideal space has good ventilation, outside is fine, has access to water and electricity, a roof, and is easily accessible for students. The prime example is in the CHBE (Chemical and Biological Engineering) Courtyard.
