Petition update"Stop High Density Zoning for Water St and Soquel Ave. in Santa Cruz, Calif.”Important to Write Santa Cruz City Council by Oct 16
S BurkSanta Cruz, CA, United States
Oct 4, 2022

We need to get some traction and attention focused on the Downtown Expansion Plan's intent to build THREE 15-story and ONE 17-story block long and block-wide SKYSCRAPERS in the area known as "South of Laurel" along Front Street in downtown Santa Cruz. The impacts of these structures will be massive.  https://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/planning-and-community-development/long-range-policy-planning/ordinance-policy-updates/downtown-plan-expansion

Now is the time, before October 16 DEADLINE - to email Sarah Neuse at the City's planning department your thoughts and comments on what IMPACTS these massive buildings might have and any studies you think the City should conduct in order to analyze the impacts. These will go into developing an Environmental Impact Report (EIR). https://www.cityofsantacruz.com/home/showpublisheddocument/90740/637988532645930000
Email your comments to: sneuse@cityofsantacruz.com
For info on what and where, look at the Notice of preparation for EIR . https://www.cityofsantacruz.com/home/showpublisheddocument/88906/637868427797900000

While you are at it let the City Council know what you think.
They came up with this idea! Tell them what you think about it!
EMAIL your comments to the  City Council Members (email addresses below).

To be clear - this is NOT some outsider developer imposing this on our City.
THIS IS US - our Santa Cru City Council - DOING THIS TO US!
IN OUR NAMES, with OUR TAX DOLLARS!

PLEASE EMAIL EACH COUNCIL MEMBER'S EMAIL  INDIVIDUALLY and not use the generic group email for the City Council.  So please, do email all the council members at the same time, just use their unique email addresses.

Current City council members' email addresses are below. It would be nice to see some new faces on the council, that are not for gentrification and dense, high-end mega-developments. That's all I'm going to say about it.
