The  City of Santa Cruz planners have stated it is too lengthy/costly to make a change to the General Plan but tomorrow they are.

The agenda Item 23 https://ecm.cityofsantacruz.com/OnBaseAgendaOnline/Meetings/ViewMeeting?id=1621&doctype=1

includes a vote to be taken to change the General Plan. Write the City Council today to have them include with Item 23 a zoning change from mixed-use high density to mixed-use low density on Water St. to keep neighbors from experiencing 6 stories with a rooftop bar towering over their backyards. 

·         State in your email make the change at the same time as the change to the General Plan to extend the downtown.

·         State in your email by making the change the city council will be protecting the character of the neighborhoods.

·         State in your email. This partial change puts into action the August 27, 2019, vote by the Santa Cruz City Council to eliminate the corridor plan.

·         State in your email you would like to see racial equity by no longer zoning Water St. as mixed-use high density.
