Some problems with the project:

      165 new affordable units just approved for downtown which puts               Santa Cruz over the 156 needed for the Regional Housing  Needs             Assessment to be met by 2023.
       Santa Cruz currently 284 + apartments available. Plus more on                 Craigslist. These very small units are not needed.

        The average size units are smaller than the existing apartment                   openings and most of the proposed look like dorm rooms.                         Are those really needed so far from UCSC?

        More Problem areas:  Lights on the roof for gatherings makes the            project 6 stories
        Lack of parking and difficult access on a busy street
        Not compatible with neighborhoods,
        Lack of light for neighbors from the shade from building is a health            concern

        IT IS IMPORTANT TO REQUEST AN EIR ON THIS PROJECT.
