Build a Fence along Creekside Bike Trail
The Issue
One of our neighbor’s dogs (Maggie) was snatched by a coyote. We were unable to save her as the coyote made its way past the white fence. This wasn’t the first visit by this particular coyote, having tried to grab the same dog 2 nights before. This is a STRONG ADVISEMENT TO PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS INSIDE AT NIGHT as much as you can. This seems to be when they come out and roam our streets. I understand that pets have to go at night, but try and find as few reasons to take your pet outside or anywhere other than your back/side yard. If you do, step outside before the pet does and check the area, and be sure to keep them on a leash. These coyotes are hunting and roaming our streets for food. PLEASE BE AS CAUTIOUS AS YOU CAN!
I am going to be attending the City Council Meeting on the 24th to make a case for having more secure walls installed. This would block entry to the community through the white fence that is vulnerable to these attacks by the coyotes that live along Newhall Ranch Road. They are scoping out our neighborhoods and snatching small dogs as food, and with this fence, we can reduce these invasions of our neighborhood. Please sign our petition and make this happen so we don't lose the unconditionally loving pets that enrich our lives every day.
