Petition for a BIPOC Sanrio character / an Inclusive line of Hello Kitty

Petition for a BIPOC Sanrio character / an Inclusive line of Hello Kitty
The Issue
Did you know that Hello Kitty is NOT a cat but in fact a little girl? That's why it's amazing there has been NO variation in her color in over 50 years of the companies history! (The closest you'll find to a colored Hello Kitty is their Hawaiian Kitty- that's simply not enough!! )
Sanrio has OVER 400 characters and none of them represent BIPOC. They're all white.
Although I LOVE Sanrio - as a Mexican and when I was child I never felt represented within the brand and still don't and know I am not alone. With the social climate in the world right now I think that the first Black Sanrio character/ BIPOC color inclusive line of Hello Kitty would be a powerful statement to all the BIPOC that continuously support this company.
The time for change IS NOW ! By signing this - we are calling upon Sanrio to come into the future. Not change the things that everyone loves about the company - but maybe expand in a more inclusive way.
Requesting the release of the first ever BlPOC Sanrio character / inclusive HK line! (And maybe even the creation of more BIPOC with it) - and donate partial (if not all) proceeds to the BLM movement somehow.
Badtz maru and Chococat are a penguin and a cat therefore I do not think they could represent BIPOC within Sanrio. Hello Kitty is a technically a human girl (look it up) - I just think that making a few pitch black hello kitty dolls isn't the same thing. There's needs to be representation for all! It would make a great statement and the proceeds can even go to the movement !!
True, this doesn't save lives, BUT think about what this would mean for all BIPOC kids to see something at Sanrio that REALLY represents them.
This isn't about monetizing the BLM movement - it's about long term change for a company that is WIDELY supported by BIPOC.
If a company as iconic as Barbie can make changes than so can Sanrio!
Let's try to make the world a better place one character at a time!
