Certain residents of Sandy City, Utah have recently petitioned the Sandy City Council to remove the urban deer population in Sandy City by allowing bow hunters to enter private and public property to KILL the deer for the alleged purpose of feeding the homeless.  These residents are trying to use wholly unsupported information and allegations to convince the Council that removing the deer is necessary; and

Whereas, the Sandy City residents who sign this below believe that the removal of the urban deer population in Sandy City is dangerous, unnecessary, inhumane, and contrary to the values of these Sandy City residents; and 

Whereas, removing the urban deer population runs against the desire of the majority of Sandy City residents to be able to continue to see and enjoy these beautiful, peaceful, and harmless animals whose ability to survive depends on feeding in lower elevations in the wintertime; and 

Whereas, the removal petition provides a poor example to our children of how to interact with the beautiful and non-aggressive animals by inhumanely killing, injuring, and maiming them because of fear and hatred rather than facts.  

Therefore the folllowing Sandy City residents are petitioning AGAINST the removal of the urban deer population in Sandy City, Utah.
