PETITION Update...it's getting them moving.

PETITION update: As you know the petition has a view for the long term with sustainable preventative measures as well as looking at procedures and policies. Since we set up the petition we have been advised that a "task force" has been set up to include Councils and Police, something we asked for. I understand also that Walsall Council are looking to announce some preventative measures next week. We need to ensure that these if offered are right for the whole community affected and they work. Too often we have settled for something in the community that has been second best or something that will do for the meantime. We will only get one chance at this and let me remind you that if you travel around the area look at the trip fences, bollards etc that have been broken, driven over and rendered useless. We want a long term solution. We also want changes to policies and quicker procedures to remove if we are unable to prevent access. It has been a great effort by all with the petition and we are clearly getting through but need to keep it up. If we all stick together and ensure we look for solutions that work and do not detract from the aesthetics of the areas. Plenty more to do but encouraged that I have had a call today from Cllr Chris Worsey who I shall be meeting up with on Sept 2nd to discuss further. Keep it up, make sure we are heard.
