As Black Lives Matter continues to bring forth consciousness about racial injustice in this country, it is important we do our part as well. We as a city demand to defund and demilitarize the San Ramon Police Department. We spend an annual budget of 23 million + on police budget expenses. We saw at the San Ramon BLM protest the snipers, and many police vehicles present which residents expressed concern over. Our police drive fancy cars which we can replace with cheaper alternatives. San Ramon PD needs to have racially conscious education within their training as well. Let's reform our police system and see the money go back into impoverished bay area communities.
