San Juan county NM: declare April 16th alcohol victims remembrance day
The Issue
We all lost them as a community to alcohol. Not just the ones who died, but the ones alcohol turned into killers.
My mom was killed by my dad. My dad was taken by alcohol before I was born before my own eldest sister even came into this world – his own mother drank with him as a kid. My sister Conny died of alcohol, someone got her drunk to drop her off on the side of the road to get hit by another drunken driver…
In San Juan County, alcohol is our life. It’s the third parent, no one is safe from alcohol.
I was in the 5th grade while some boys brought a shot of vodka in, it was those 99 tiny shooter bottles… a 5th grader seeing that is not okay. I’m grown now but imagine how much is still going on in those walls of the schools..
I am Naomi Maryjane jack asking San Juan County Commissioners to declare April 16th to be Alcohol Victims Remembrance day.
For the victims who were murdered in drunken accidents
For the victims who killed because of this drink we made legal.
For the kids still living it.
For every single person who has had been a victim to alcohol abuse and alcohol poisoning
Because I can love my father and hate alcohol. I can grieve my mom and sister and admit the cycle would’ve continued
Sign if you believe San Juan County should remember them all.
Sign for all the san juan county fathers alcohol stole before he was a dad.
Sign for the mothers who died or are suffering from it ways.
Sign for the kids being exposed to it’s ways by friends, family and advertisers.
Sign for the kids who deserve to know it ends with us.
First San Juan County. Then New Mexico. Then the nation.
But it starts here. Where it happened. So please sign this petition and show our community we care and support each other. Thank you!
