I’m surprised and disappointed that I have not gotten a response to my messages to the SJUSD Board to get this concern on their agenda. That said, we all got the message from the Superintendent, about a “Troubling Social Media Challenge” on 12/16/21. Does the Board not see any connection between this concern and this message they had to send out just before our winter break? Why does the District continue to provide access to this very platform on their school issued devices?
Again, please consider sending a message to our School Board requesting this change - here are their emails: bwheatley@sjusd.org, ccollins@sjusd.org, tcastellanos@sjusd.org, jmagana@sjusd.org, superintendent@sjusd.org, wmahaneygurahoo@sjusd.org.
Also in the news is more support for change when it comes to Social Media and the impacts on our youth's mental health from US Surgeon General - see article link.
