Thank you all for the tremendous support on our effort to stop SJUSD from relocating Leland and Bret Harte. For those that have not heard, as a result of the overwhelming opposition to the plan, SJUSD decided to drop their plans to relocate the schools. Congratulations and thank you!
There is also a new development that we thought many of you may be interested in. The San Jose General Plan Task Force has recommended that the City Council explore eliminating all single family residence zoning and allow multi-unit housing (up to a four-plex) in all neighborhoods citywide. Depending on lot size, these four-plexes could also be combined with the state allowed 2 ADUs, making a possible 6-unit housing on a single-family zoned lot. This essentially means that if your neighbor wants to convert their house into a six-unit complex, they will be able to.
If you are interested in signing a city-wide petition requesting that single-family zoning remain in the city of San Jose, which is being hosted by the Willow Glen Neighborhood Association, please go to: Willow Glen Neighborhood Association (wgna.net).
