Thank you for signing the petition concerning the San Jose State University Library. As a result of the concerns expressed and efforts of key players on the Library Board and in the Academic Senate an acceptable revision of library policy passed the Academic Senate on April 27. Nonetheless, vigilance will be required to protect the library collection in the future. I have compiled an e-mail list of faculty who signed a separate SOUL (Save Our University Library) petition and plan to maintain it in case mobilization to protect the books is needed again in the future.
