Bring Drew Remenda back to the San Jose Sharks Broadcast Team

Bring Drew Remenda back to the San Jose Sharks Broadcast Team
The Issue
#BringDrewBack - Drew Remenda belongs in San Jose. We want him back. His absence is a void. Sign this petition to let the Sharks organization know that it's time to bring him back.
Drew's unique, jovial, upbeat, and his "always willing to lend a minute to talk Sharks hockey with a fan or foe" spirit are truly missed by all. And, this void cannot be filled if and until he is back in the booth at the Shark Tank -- not as a visiting journalist when the Oilers play the Sharks, but as a Sharks broadcaster. Drew's irreplaceable and genuine cheer, passion, and commitment to the Sharks organization is second to none and although years have passed, his absence hasn't become any easier to digest, let alone accept as permanent.
When the Sharks organization came into existence in the early 90's, Drew was tapped to become the assistant coach of the new expansion team. After four seasons as an assistant coach with the boys in teal, Drew continued his dedication to Sharks excellence by accepting a head coaching position with the Sharks minor league affiliate in Kansas City. From there, he switched to the broadcast side and, notwithstanding a few minor gaps, cumulatively, he spent over a decade on the radio and television waves covering everything Sharks hockey. This included upwards of 13 seasons as an on-air color television commentator, much of which was spent alongside the one and only Randy Hahn. Prior to television, he worked alongside renowned Sharks radio broadcast legend, Dan Rusanowsky. However, reducing Drew's accomplishments and passion to the title of "broadcaster" fails to account for the full package approach to the Sharks, to the community, and to life that Drew brought to not only the airwaves, but the Sharks organization and the greater bay area community. He was and is so much more than just a broadcaster.
In watching or listening to Drew, it takes all of a millisecond to realize his unwavering passion for the sport of hockey and more specifically, the San Jose Sharks. Nowadays, a tone of sadness is undeniably present when Drew is asked about the Sharks organization. Let's end this nonsense.
Whatever spawned his untimely departure from the Sharks airwaves and organization, let's move on. It's time to let bygones be byegons. Let's focus on the future, let's get him back to the tank, and let's get him back to the place where he is meant to be.
The Hahn/Remenda dynamic was unprecedented -- and will be once again when Drew is welcomed back to the organization. There's no question that Drew and Hahn duo will pick up right where they left off and will reinvigorate fans and prospective fans alike. Now, let's make it happen. Join me in urging the Sharks organization to #BringDrewBack.
