Parents, Guardians, Family and Friends,  

Thank you for your interest in standing up for our kids! With more than 40 states across the U.S. without a mask mandate in schools, the argument is getting weaker to continue it here in California and further away from being based on the real data. There are both physical and emotional concerns regarding our kids wearing masks. Depression and suicide have skyrocketed among young people since the start of the pandemic, and masking our students not only makes it difficult to breathe, but is covering up the ability to express their range of emotions or see the emotions of their teachers and peers.

We are asking San Jacinto Valley Academy, SJUSD, and HUSD to help advocate to the state to put choice back into parent's hands whether or not our children wear a mask. We know what's best for our own child. We also are asking these districts to advocate for our children and pass a resolution asking the state to remove the mask mandate. 

What can you do to advocate for your child? 

1. Sign this petition! It's fast and is one way to let your voice be heard that you want your child's smile to be seen :)

2. Share with other parents and get them involved. The more voices that are heard, the better chance of getting them to listen!

3. Consider sending an email to the school administration. You can say something as simple as: 
        Dear School Administration and School Board, 
I respectfully request that you consider the data that children are at very low risk from Covid. Many states and schools across the country have been sending their children to school with no masks and there has been no increase in cases of Covid. Please research the facts and give the choice back into the hands of the parents. We know our children best! At the very least, please advocate for our children and ask the state officials and policy makers to please end the mandate.
