Operation Grammy Lift: Help a Multi-Generational San Francisco Family Live Together Under One Roof.

Recently widowed Linda Dunn moved to San Francisco from Florida to live in the apartment below the home owned by her only child Eric Dunn, her daughter-in-law, Leiasa Beckham and their two children. This move allows Grammy Linda to participate in the daily lives of her two young adorable grandchildren Simon (10) and Edythe (7).
As members of the sandwich generation, we are raising young children and caring for aging parents. The benefit of San Francisco multi-family housing stock is that it was built for this use, but doesn't accommodate the needs of disabled populations.
In order to comply with California State law for residential elevators the floor plan in the building needs to be rearranged. These changes require the approval of variances from the Zoning Administrator.
Please help Grammy Linda age in place with her primary care givers and her adoring grandchildren by supporting the variances requests necessary for the installation of a residential elevator. The elevator will allow her to enjoy full and equal access to her home and the home of her immediate family.
Without the variance Grammy Linda and her family will be forced to leave the City. Or much worse, she’ll have to move into a facility alone without her grandchildren close which is so necessary for Grammy Linda to enjoy the twilight years of her life.
You can help Grammy Linda enjoy full and equal access to her home and that of her immediate family by signing this petition and let the Planning Department know that our housing stock should adapt to the needs of disabled populations.
