As tragic and scary as it has been, the recent spate of gun violence (three shootings in the last three weeks) on 24th and Shotwell is not very surprising. 

This corner has been a hotbed for violence for years, yet we rarely have meaningful evidence for understanding these events and catching the culprits.

Installing surveillance cameras in this area would be a simple way to not only help catch offenders, but deter crimes from happening in the first place.
