Stop the closure on Innovation High School Lemon Grove CA

The Issue

In recent years Innovation High School in Lemon Grove California, as well as other charter schools that provide students of all ages and in particular adult students ages 18 and up the opportunity to get their High School diploma, have been threatened by Grossmont Union High School district by two lawsuits back to back. The recent lawsuit was lost which resulted in an order by the Judge to close three of the charters by June 28th. This will not only displace both teachers and staff from their jobs, which will result in hundreds of people being unemployed, but it will also affect over 1,500 students, most of which are adults and are unable to return to the Grossmont district schools due to age. Grossmont Union High School district is robbing almost a thousand students of their education. Please stand with Innovation High School because students should not be forced to go to a traditional school and should be allowed to attend a school that is flexible to their needs. America was built with choice in mind, the ability to choose your path. The education of the youth of our society should have that choice as well. Innovation High school offers one on one teaching which has allowed students to do better and thrive in their studies. I am  twenty years old and as of today (6/13/19) I will be turning in my last credit and getting my diploma. Without schools like Innovation High School I do not think I could have succeeded. My voice is one of many that these charters have helped over the years. Traditional High Schools did not help me achieve my goals, that system did not have a direct path for me to follow, medical, financial and social issues that I was going through were never taken under consideration and blended into my education until I came to a charter school. Please stand with me in protecting a school system that is devoted to the education of students that have nowhere else to go. Stand with Innovation High School Lemon Grove.
