JOIN THE SAN DIEGO TENANTS UNION TO RALLY AGAINST ABUSIVE MANAGEMENT AND FOR RENT CONTROL

Tenants at The Village Apartments in Linda Vista have endured decades of neglect.  Only after hundreds of people protested against Sunrise Management, is when much needed repairs began to be addressed.  Unfortunately, Sunrise has resorted to its bad practices that forced hundreds of people out into the streets of Linda Vista to protest against horrid living conditions.  

Tenants have endured patch jobs that cover up mold.  Parking rates are constantly increasing, most recently by 100%.  Tenants are being charged unexplained fees and threatened with evictions if they don't pay.  Management enters units without permission.  Management has destroyed tenants' plants and have removed all green areas where people would congregate, celebrate and children would have fun.  Now, landscapes are fenced off and dangerous ditches are spread throughout the property.  Management is always hostile and repair requests go ignored or are rejected.  Some units are plagued with mice and cockroaches.  

The Village Tenants Association demands that the property manager and the maintenance manager be replaced with managers that care for the community and the tenants living at The Village Apartments. Demand letter will be read outside the Sunrise Management offices.

This is an effort being led by the San Diego Tenants Union, as we continue to expand our reach and counterweight power in Linda Vista and throughout San Diego.
