Part Two of Town Manager's Comment in the City of Apple Valley, CA
https://youtu.be/YvIOvWkPMxQ
At the Apple Valley City Council meeting held on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2023, the Apple Valley Town Manager Doug Robertson responded to approximately 15 concerned speakers all calling for transparency and change at the Apple Vally Animal Shelter or AVAS. But when he responded, not only did people walk out of the room, almost all the jaws-dropped as he commented. Not only did the Town Manager Doug Robertson not listen to the community, he responded by telling a resident of the City of Apple Valley not to bring stray dogs or cats into the city's animal shelter because it's not safe. Don't believe me, LISTEN TO THE VIDEOS ABOVE.
In the videos listed, the Town Manager starts his comments off by suggesting people who find stray dogs need to take them to other shelters if they are to have a good chance of survival. WHERE IS THE MEDIA! If you are the TOWN MANAGER admitting this, how can you honestly invite San Bernardino County to renew their contract with this facility. WE MUST BLOCK THIS RENEWAL with our voices.
After telling the community to take stay animals to other shelters, the Town Manager tells those in attendance he is proud of his animal shelter staff and lets everyone know that he told the shelter staff that they are all doing a good job. WTF! I can't believe this either. In the same breath he admits his shelter is NOT safe, he tells residents the staff is doing a good job....based on what?
If anything we've learned about the City of Apple Valley is that the corruption runs deep. Listen to the Public Comments by clicking below and then write to the Town Manager and let him know he has to do his homework if he thinks the community can be fooled by his double-talk.
Listen to the meeting below. https://applevalley.tv/CablecastPublicSite/show/469?site=1
Together, we need to pray for the City of Apple Valley's Town Manager who clearly is not able to think straight under the stress of deception. It must take a lot to cover for the unethical and potentially illegal behavior happening at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter.
Any good person knows when someone is lying. It is however up to the public to make sure the LIES STOP. As long as the City of Apple Valley continues to defend the lies and resist transformation, we are going to keep showing up as the voice of the animals who do not have a voice.
While we wait for the City to find the courage to be honest, please write to their officials and let them know that lying doesn't work for you. Again, just watch the videos above. Encourage the City Council NOT to support the renewal of the SBC contract because in the words of the Town Manager...it's not safe at the Apple Valley animal shelter for animals.
Help up by letting the people listed below know your thoughts on these issues. Encourage them NOT to renew the County contracts until their animal care facility is a safe place to surrender animals.
Regards,
A Concerned Citizen
