Today, the Big Bear Animal Pound decided to kill Bug on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020. Our Big Bear community found three animal rescues willing to help if we found an adopter or foster to get Bug out. We had people willing to pay for BUG to be transported. As we all searched for an adopter or foster, they killed Bug on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 while the entire animal pound was EMPTY. They didn't kill this dog for needed space. They didn't kill this dog because of lack of interest. They killed this dog because they could. On March 3rd (Tuesday evening), we contacted Chris at the Devore Animal Pound which is our management facility 45 minutes away and he confirmed that the dog was in NO DANGER of being killed. The earliest our foster/adopter could get the dog was on Thursday, March 5th, 2020. Everything was in place to save this life but behind our backs the pound killed because we have not placed a NO KILL POLICY in place.

When is enough enough? When is a City Council member actually going to listen to the will of our community? When is someone from our community going to run for the city board and start saving our animals? And when is our community going to stop with the illegal breeding? When is our community going to decide to get their dogs and cats fixed?

The blood of this dog is on all of our hands. The question is, "What are we going to do about this continued killing of our pets?"
