I have happy and sad news.

I am happy to announce Big Bear Animal Pound continues to work with our Big Bear Animal Rescue Community in positive and productive ways that are saving lives.

Over the last two weeks, we housed one dog with a retired police officer, rescued a dog with a broken leg, and have another rescue scheduled as soon as a stray hold is released on a pit bull. I'd like to give a special shout out to Sara at Big Bear Animal Pound for working with the community during this pandemic and also during all the civil unrest. We feel so blessed to have Sara at our Big Bear Animal Pound. Knowing you are there taking care of our lost and abandoned animals helps me sleep at night.

In so far as my sad news, the dog we rescued who has a broke leg is going to have to have an amputation. The amputation is scheduled for June 8th, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. At this point, our total expenses including surgery is hovering around $2100. So far, we've raised $900! Yes...$900! Please help us continue our work in Big Bear. 100% of all donations go directly to dogs and cats in need. Even though we are not a 501C3 charity group, we are an effective group of concerned citizens who believe in the power of community and giving. We do have an amazing foster for Chance. Fingers crossed the foster will choose to keep him. I've attached yesterday's x-rays taken at Big Bear's VCA. Thank you Jennifer at VCA for fitting Chance in. You are one of our heroes. Please visit the above GoFundme page for all updates.
