A disturbing trend is emerging at Devore. The majority of dogs listed are labeled “aggressive” “fearful” “ a fear biter” , etc ..... are you kidding me? These are dogs who are thrown into a strange, loud and scary place permiated with the smell of death. To label a tiny Chihuahua or terrier “Rescue Only” because they are afraid, limits their chances of making it out alive. The average stay for a dog at Devore is 7 DAYS or less! Volunteers are not allowed in the shelter.....these dogs get no love, no treats, no visitors.....nothing. Their final moments if they are euth listed and no one comes for them are of only pain and loneliness. No dog should die alone, especially in the manner they are killed at this shelter. It is NOT humane, it is NOT gentle, it IS slow, it is PAINFUL, it is horrific. Please continue to share and sign this petition and email those in charge for change. WE MUST DEMAND CHANGE!
