Sallie Mae is a predatory student loan company. “By definition, predatory lending benefits the lender and ignores or hinders the borrower’s ability to repay the debt. These lending tactics often try to take advantage of a borrower’s lack of understanding about loans, terms or finances (debt.org).”

This company has taken advantage of millions of unsuspecting Americans who just wanted to go to college to attain a better life. People who had little education, especially young people with no life experience, have been prime targets for this company. Through exorbitant interest rates, refusal to work with struggling borrowers, unclear terms, and harassment, this company has taken a mental and financial toll on innocent people and ruined lives.

The goal of this petition is to seek justice for those affected by these practices. Sallie Mae must pay. Other companies have done the same thing and have been made to face consequences. We know we can and will win this battle.  

It is time that we seek justice.
