Today i have been faced with The City of Salem Missouri's ordnance against swine. I was told there is a city ordnance against swine in the city limits. There for they want me to rehome or surrender my Miniature Pig Coco. Whom is not just swine or livestock to our family she is a member and loved as such! She has not been a problem to anyone around us or anyone that has ever had the opportunity to meet her. She doesnt destroy the yard or stink up our neighborhood. She diesnt escaoe the fance when she is outside and always has supervision while she is out, although she is a princess and prefers to be inside on her bed getting tummy rubs. She minds her buisness plays with our dogs and our children and boy does she love her snacks and belly rubs just as much as any average pet. She is not aggressive at all. There is not a mean bone in her body. And althiugh she isnt a traditional domesticated pet she is definitly domestic. She is kind and friendly. She is a wonderful little chunky friend. She should not be defined as livestock and be banded from the city limits where we have lived with no issues for 4 months now. She is not a farm animal she is not food she is a friend just as a dog or a cat or any other domesticated animal. I beleive it is time to change the old ordinance. I will not let them take her without a fight. My children and i are devastated. Our whole family will be heartbroken along with all of her friends who come to visit if the city makes us surrender her. And for what reason? None except an ordinance that includes mini pigs that they know nothing about. If only they had the chance to meet her and see her in her yard or in her home. I think then they may change their minds about the definition of mini pigs that they are not livestock they are pets! They mean alot to their families. Those who know what its like to have a Mini in their family know that you spend lots of time with your babies right? They arent even just pets they are family and i cannot stress that enough. She bears no problem to our community or our neighbors or surrounding buisnesses the people around us love her! 

Now with that being said she needs all the support she can get to stay here in her home where she belongs, where she is comfortable, not in someone elses or the shelters hands. So we can change this ordinance from tearing her away from her family and friends. If we lose this fight she will be taken by law i dont know where or who she will go to or if they will know how to care for her. My family's heart is broken just at the thought of having to let her go we just cant, thats why we are asking for everyones help. To show the city that these little minis arent pork chops! They are the perfect pet for the right family. She is what calms me with her belly rubs when i have had a bad day. She is who my children play with in the front yard and in the house. Nobody has ever complained about her. She doesnt smell. She isnt dirty or nasty. She is part of our family and we hope you all can find it in your hearts to take the time to sign this petition and help us keep our baby! 

We dont have much time at all. We have until April 6th 2020 to get as many signatures as possible before i stand before the board of council. To try and make it legal for all other pig loving families to be able to keep a cuddly family friend. For us to keep our baby Coco! She deserves just as any mini does to have a fun loving home amd family even in the city limits they arent smelly or disgusting like farm hogs. They are actually clean smart little chunkies! We will fight till our last breath to keep her here with us in her home and we hope you all can help us make a change to make a difference! Let us all make a change and prove to the council that mini pigs are not livestock they arent what the city defines them as. And they deserve a chance just as any cat or dog!
