City Councillors not yet convinced to save Rockwood Park
A few days ago, planners from the City's Growth and Community Development Service held a drop-in session to discuss the proposal and collect feedback. Several members of the Friends of Rockwood Park attended and spoke to Councillors for the City of Saint John.
Here's what an attendee had to say: "I saw really good turnout and many of the public in attendance seemed to be AGAINST the proposal but several councillors there said they were planning to say yes [to the proposal to sell & convert parkland to medium density residential housing] anyway."
Rather than be deflated by this reaction, let's RISE TO THE CHALLENGE, and convince City Council to say "NO" to the proposed amendment for the portion of Rockwood Park known as '1671 Sandy Point Road."
WHAT CAN YOU DO? Sign & share the petition and write a letter to the Common Clerk (commonclerk@saintjohn.ca). Be specific about why you care or use our form letter.
Great cities don't sell their parkland.
Who do we need to convince?
Blake Armstrong, John McKenzie, and Gerry Lowe, David Merrithew and Ray Strowbridge are in favour of selling and developing the portion of Rockwood Park known as 1671 Sandy Point Road.
