The Issue

They say food is medicine, more and more of us are suffering from chronic disease. Why? Mostly because of the food we eat. The food system is corrupt, government and bad food policies are making us unhealthy and ill.We have to change the way we think about food, how we grow our food, how we think about the food we eat.  I am starting with this small step.  The other day the seafood in Sainsbury's was imported from Vietnam, Indonesia, it was labelled sustainable, one was even labelled organic. Don't get me started on the salmon. Accessing healthy food is a barrier for many. Let's start by asking Sainsbury's to stop importing food from halfway around the world when we have amazing seafood on our doorstep. This would help with their carbon footprint for one thing. It's a small step on the way creating a food system that addresses global poverty.
