The Issue

I’m a disabled LGBTQ+ survivor with a domestic-violence restraining order (DVRO) issued in January 2025. This petition is about school procedures and effective communication, not about any one individual.

Since the order, I have reported follow-up concerns through the appropriate channels and filed public-records requests to understand how safety procedures are being applied.

Public records to date

LAPD reports were taken on June 5, 2025 (PD250605000033865) and July 1, 2025 (PD25070300004640)regarding post-order concerns involving online activity and messaging.

Through CPRA, I requested records from prior and current school systems regarding (1) Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) logging and risk assessment and (2) any Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) employer reporting tied to employment-status changes. To date, responses from Sage Oak have not included a WVPP log entry or an employer report. Stella Middle has indicated a log entry exists; I’m asking for the written risk assessment and documented interim controls as a family-court hearing on renewal/contempt is scheduled.

What I’m asking agencies to do

For Stella Middle Charter Academy

Create or confirm a WVPP log entry for this full matter and designate a neutral safety point of contact. Complete a written risk assessment and implement specific interim controls, such as:

  1. Server-side no-forwarding of my emails to the restrained individual
  2. Appropriate schedule/space separation and access rules
  3. Non-student duties/admin leave where warranted
  4. Issue a dated Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and schedule staff briefings/training.
  5. Honor ADA effective communication: route communications through a neutral POC, use email/secure-portal as needed, and do not forward my communications to the restrained individual.
  6. If there is an adverse employment action, meet any CTC reporting obligations.

For oversight (LAUSD and other agencies)

  1. LAUSD Charter (authorizer): verify WVPP logging, risk assessment, and CAP.
  2. Cal/OSHA (DOSH): confirm WVPP documentation and interim controls.
  3. CTC DPP: review employer reporting/fitness if HR takes action.

Notes

  • “Intimate-partner DV” protections apply equally in same-sex cases under California law.
  • All statements above are drawn from court records, police report numbers, and CPRA responses available to me. If any agency supplies documentation that corrects the record, I will update this page.
  • This petition is about institutional procedures (WVPP/ADA/oversight), not individual outreach or identification.
