Dear Members of the Sag Harbor Board of Education:

Yesterday, on January 24th, 2022, a judge declared Gov. Hochul's student mask mandate unconstitutional, deeming mandates invalid statewide.  While we received an update from our Superintendant (Jeff Nichols), this morning explaining that masks would still be required due to "the stay" that was filed, we are demanding members of the board to oppose this and make mask wearing optional for students. 

It is time that we stand up for our children and allow the decision of mask wearing be up to us, the parents and caregivers, and only us.  

As a board, we implore you to use your voice against continued mandates on a State level and keep the overall health and interests of the Sag Harbor students in the forefront.

Our children have suffered enough throughout this pandemic.  Please help us bring back the beautiful faces and smiles that are so imperative to our children's learning and well being. 

We will not stop fighting until justice has been served on this matter.
