Safeguard Ingatestone's Countryside and Wildlife for Future Generations

The Issue

As twenty-year plus residents of the distinctive village of Ingatestone and the historic Chase estate, we've been privileged with easy access to vast fields, lush countryside, and a vibrant ecosystem of natural trees and wildlife. Today, we raise our voices to protect an area that's been not just our dwelling, but a haven offering solace and natural beauty. The area is behind Whadden Chase and The Heythrop and between the A12 slip road and running along along the Roman Road .

Our struggle is to safeguard this cherished landscape that painted our daily living. The environmental impact of losing this green space is not negligible - research indicates that such areas support vital biodiversity, offset carbon emissions, and provide ecosystems services of immeasurable value (World Wildlife Fund 2018).

We're standing up for a cause that's more than a need, it's an obligation to act as stewards of the environment for not just us, but for our descendants who have the right to cherish the same natural splendour. We entreat you to join us to make a unified appeal, asking our local authorities to legally protect this area, affirming our commitment to preserving our heritage and the environmental crux.

Sign this petition. Stand with us, ensuring our countryside and wildlife is preserved, appreciated, and accessible for generations that walk the path after us.
