I am a resident of Laguna, Philippines and I am deeply concerned about the endangered animals that are on the brink of extinction if we do not take immediate action to protect them. This issue is personal to me as I believe in preserving our natural heritage and biodiversity for future generations.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), there are currently over 26,000 species worldwide that are threatened with extinction. In the Philippines alone, there are approximately 414 endangered species which include mammals like the Philippine Eagle and Tamaraw.

Our wildlife plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. They contribute to pollination, seed dispersal, nutrient cycling and provide other ecosystem services that humans rely on for survival. The loss of these species could have devastating impacts on our environment and economy.

I urge our local government in Laguna to implement stricter laws against poaching and illegal wildlife trade. We also need more funding for conservation programs aimed at protecting these endangered animals' habitats from deforestation and urbanization.
