Soon the Skidata Gates close on Pier 121 Marina in Lewisville, Tx. With these gates, Safe Harbor Marinas lead by Sean C. McNamara, the harbormaster at Pier 121, plan for the first time to charge all MEMBERS for GUESTS to park in the Marina. Prices have been laid out and have been emailed to members of Pier 121.

Charging members for guests is not only a disrespectful gesture by Pier 121 directly aimed at Marina Members, but it also endangers the lives of guests and lives of those on the roadways and in surrounding areas. People come to the lake to hang out and have fun, which often includes drinking. Guests should not be worried about parking prices by the hour when on the lake relaxing and drinking. This is a danger not only to those on the roadways nearby but, a danger to those on the water boating. This makes boating days more stressful for members, having to cut days shorter in order to save money on parking for their guests. This puts other boaters and boats in the Marina in danger of boats driving under the influence and causing an accident. All for a parking lot that isn’t even full on the 4th of July.

With less foot traffic, this will affect all marina business. The Marina restaurant, which has just been filled by Fair Winds since the Rocking S departure over a monetary dispute, could be lost if foot traffic fails to produce customers. This would cause Pier 121 to once again not have a restaurant for its members. Greed has put an end to so many great things here at Pier 121, and we hope all members will stand united against this greedy attempt aimed directly at the Members of Pier 121.
