Inner West Council has several great proposals on consultation right now! This means they want YOUR ideas on how to make our streets better for walking and riding 😄 Act quickly, your opportunity to shape these projects ends in mid December.
There’s 3 big items that won't happen without your support:
- Marrickville Road East Cycleway: this petition brought it back to life, support it again now!
- Sydenham Road Strategy: includes a cycleway design that needs improvement.
- Lewisham’s local streets: help fill a missing link between the Greenway and bike paths to the city!

Marrickville Road East Cycleway
This cycleway has been on the cards for almost a decade. It would fill a gap between the new Meeks Rd cycleway and Sydenham Station. Opposition is building. We need you to show your support, and suggest any improvement ideas here: https://bikemarrickville.short.gy/marrickville-road-cp

Sydenham Road Strategy
Three phases of works are proposed to make this area friendlier to people walking and cycling between Victoria Rd and Sydenham Station. It features a shared path in the short term, and a cycleway in the future.
However, the proposed cycleway doesn’t actually reach the station! There’s too many pedestrians here for a shared path to make sense long term - so be sure to suggest improvements when supporting it here: https://bikemarrickville.short.gy/sydenham-road-cp

Lewisham’s Local Streets
There’s lots of opportunity for improvements, especially with the Greenway about to open. We’d love to see is the missing link along Railway Terrace completed! You might like to propose a better connection between the Longport Rd cycleway, west of Old Canterbury Road, to the shared path east of Hunter Street.
