The issue

Families, single parents, young people, old age pensioners are being pushed onto the streets by  lack of affordable rents or priced out of their current rentals.

And it will get worse, creating a huge social, mental and safety issue that will cost the government even more to deal with.

Ask the state and federal government to provide, in each suburb, a safe camping, trailer accommodation with temporary facilities and security round the clock.

there are many parks, recreational and sports areas that can be used.

Each suburb needs to welcome people in need of safe accommodation.

It is the government responsibility to ensure the right to safe accommodation after their poor housing management has created this situation.

How dare politicians and councils proudly promote new projects  without first addressing this real crisis. Australia is a country that has made many wealthy through property development and real estate, now the more vulnerable and lower income are being thrown out of their homes.

Councils, state and federal agencies need to address this urgently.

A safe temporary accommodation, tents, trailer homes, with facilities, common cooking areas, showers, lockers, play area and monitored security would reduce pressure on the rental market, give families, children, the elderly a temporary accommodation and social support to save for a bond, to continue working. We are casting them out into couch surfing and unsafe situations.

We still need a long term solution, but all the experts say it will take over 5 years, and in the meanwhile? What is the government doing?

Share this petition, call and write to your state and federal members.

We are all responsible. Most of us benefited from real estate. They are our people, our community. Do it now please.
