Many of you signed this petition calling for stronger monitoring, accountability, and protections related to the Brandon Shores and H.A. Wagner power plants.

The Maryland House of Delegates is now considering the CHERISH Our Communities Act (HB1287 and HB1268), which would require regulators to consider cumulative pollution impacts in overburdened communities like ours when issuing or renewing permits.

Written testimony must be submitted on Friday, March 6 between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM ONLY.
The system will not accept submissions outside that window.

You do NOT need to testify in person.

 
How to Submit Written Testimony

1. Create or log into a MyMGA account:

2. On Friday (March 6 between 8am–6pm):

Click “Witness Signup”
Find:

HB1287
HB1268
Under “Position,” select: Favorable
Under “Testimony,” select: Written
3. Upload your testimony as a PDF.
(It must be saved as a PDF.)
4. Scroll back up and click Save.
5. Confirm under “Signed Up Items” that both bills show:
Favorable – Written
You must upload your testimony to BOTH bills.
