Lewisham is an inner-London borough yet it contains three train stations that are within Zone Four of the London Transport Network; Grove Park, Lower Sydenham and Beckenham Hill.

These areas are parts of the borough that could do with more investment and we believe that re-zoning them to 3/4 would help encourage that investment.

Also, the current transport zoning in the London Borough of Lewisham makes no sense – there is no logical reason why Sydenham and Lee stations are in zone three, while Grove Park and Lower Sydenham stations are in zone four.

Re-zoning Grove Park, Lower Sydenham and Beckenham Hill stations could help hard pressed commuters in the south of the borough save over £300 a year.

Other stations across London have been re-zoned such as Stratford.

We the undersigned call on the Mayor of London, Transport for London and Southeastern to work together to rezone these stations, when the rail franchise is next up for renewal, and ensure there is no longer zone four in the London Borough of Lewisham.
