Erected signs on posts for permitted mini cab pickups and drop offs area in the streets is needed for the convenience of spotting the signs from distance away rather than unknowingly going to the spot without realising it and causing unnecessary congestion to the buses and taxis , also PHV drivers are being penalised with a heavy parking fines.If the permitted parking ( pickups and drop offs) for mini cabs were well highlighted on posts then it wouldn’t be inconvenience to the buses and taxis nor a danger to the public either,many drivers even with great deal of experience fail to notice the markings  drawn on the street and its kerbs because it’s very confusing and the decision to pick or not causes undue hesitancy and danger to other road users too.The mini cab drivers often end up paying fines or the drivers make customers rush and pickups are done dangerously, when as if there was large erected signs on the posts it would be very safe and convenience for the public too and they would avoid being waiting in the wrong and non permitted spot on the streets.

The pickups and drop offs of mini cab drivers is like a cat and mouse game but the cameras are always catching the drivers and they end up paying parking fines.

I request the TFL and Mayor of London to kindly listen to this campaign to make streets of London safe for mini cab drivers and the public while picking up and dropping off , because I personally care for the customers when picking up and dropping them off and every time I have to phone them and make them walk to different spots where I am sure it’s ok ,but if there was erected signs on the post that phv’s are allowed then it would be stress free for me and my customers too.

The current writing and marking on the streets with different sizes of dots are very hard to spot on the spur of the moment where my customers are waving at me and I am always left with undue stress of having to make split second decisions whether or not to pick them up because it is not easy for drivers to concentrate on many things at once while driving but if the sign was erected on a post then I could conveniently see it from far distance for a safe and hazard free pickup.

The need for this phv’s permitted pick ups and drop offs erected signs is very important now in London and even whole of the UK is because of the app based bookings by the public and it’s efficency in service because that is making public wait for their mini cabs from where they have booked it from without realising the road markings.

It is uncomfortable to our London mini cab using public especially if they have luggages because of having to carry them.

On behalf of the thousands of mini cab drivers in London and millions of our customers I request the TFL and the Mayor of London to fulfill this wish for a safer journey,we are not asking for additional spots of pickups and drop offs but just an easy to spot erected signs of already permitted for phv’s although additional facilities would be of benefit and convenience too for better London experience.
