Continuing to reach out to Transport for London (TfL) /Greater London Assembly (GLA), Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport Policing Command and Enfield Council about the speeding and noise issues on the A10.

Police.

In terms of speeding, the Police are using new speed laser equipment In the last two speed enforcement sessions over 100 cars were caught speeding; the highest speed was 82mph - in the daytime - so is not just a night time problem. With the amount of Pedestrian Crossings along the A10; this is even more dangerous. The A10 has some of the most chronic speeding in London - there was one month where it accounted for 12% of all speeding offences for the WHOLE of London.

The Police are also running a specific operation around illegal car meets. Results from deployments to date are 12 arrests, over 30 vehicle’s seizes and 300+ S.59 warnings issued.

Average Speed Cameras.

Thank you to everyone that has signed the petition calling for average speed cameras along the Great Cambridge Road roundabout to Southbury Road junction. TfL and GLA are very much aware of the call for action - and are having ongoing discussions to press this. http://change.org/A10Enfield

Noise Cameras. I have looked into this; including speaking with TfL and the DfT. The technology is on trial; the first taking place in for the last couple of years in Knightsbridge. A new trial is being conducted in four locations across the UK. Until the trial(s) are concluded the technology cannot be rolled out - and there is no guarantee it will be shown to be a proven technology.

As I learn more I will let you know - and once again thank you to everyone supporting the petition
