Good news and bad news. The good news is that we've had 200 signatures in 48-hours and most of Saddleworth Parish Council have now publicly called on Mike Buckley to resign. Bad news is that Mike Buckley just released a press statement appearing to dismiss the seriousness of his conviction and tell you, the electorate, that your opinion is irrelevant. He says: “Individuals’ views on whether I should stand down from the parish council are just that – their views. I intend to continue my work on the Parish Council...and working on the many projects that I am presently engaged in.” More disturbingly, Mike Buckley continues to work for the local school campaign group Save Diggle Action Group (SDAG). We have repeatedly asked Keith Lucas MBE, who runs the website, to remove Mike Buckley from the group. But so far he has refused. Mike Buckley still features prominently on the SDAG homepage.
