Save SVUSD From the Coronavirus! Start Online School before it's late!
The Issue
Considering the current situation of COVID-19 and the worldwide effects of this pandemic, Saddleback Valley School District (SVUSD) puts students at the risk of coming in contact with this virus by remaining in operation. When students develop flu-like symptoms, they refuse to stay at home out of the fear of missing important lessons and exams. Social distancing is essential to the prevention of more cases of COVID-19. Other California school districts and universities have acknowledged this public health issue and have temporarily closed down their campuses for the safety of students and staff. These schools have turned to systems of online education to continue to provide the fundamentals of learning to students, and we encourage that SVUSD do the same. The temporary closure of schools and transition into online instruction in SVUSD ensures that students are less likely to fall victim to the hazards of COVID-19. With over 150 cases of COVID-19 in California alone, it is crucial that SVUSD schools take action to prevent and contain cases of this virus.
