Artivio Guerrero passed away at the age of 80 on January 25, 2013, peacefully surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 52 years to wife Martha. Devoted and much loved father to Ana Maria and Teresa. Best grandpa ever to Lucca and Mia. Born February 21st, 1932 in Sheridan, Wyoming, Art was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retiree of the Sacramento Army Depot. He lived in the Fruitridge Manor Neighborhood for more than half a century, and was always involved in youth and community development activities. In retirement, Art, "Mr. G." became a cherished computer teacher and mentor at St. Peter's and John Paul II Elementary Schools. He was also involved in the Sacramento County Probation Department's Neighborhood Accountibility program. The mentoring program serves youth between the ages of 5 and 18. A community activist, along with his wife, he was an active member of the Fruitridge Manor Neighborhood Association, ACT (Area Congregations Together) and served on the board of Clara's House. Driven by his compassion to help others, Art was a dedicated servant to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society for over 35 years and served as the President of the Sacramento Council from 1978-1984. This lovely, kind, inspirational man's presence will be felt forever.
