On the weekend, a local Tonsley resident initiated a Facebook page: "Tonsley Station Friends".
The link is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/438999896555463/
It is a place for people to discuss issues concerning Tonsley Railway Station and to share information. It is also an online meeting point for local residents.
If you use Facebook, you are encouraged to join the group and share it with your social networks.
When I began my petition, a number of local train users suggested a Facebook page but I have struggled (due to health issues) to have enough energy to actively petition and write correspondence etc. I do not have the capacity to moderate other online forums so my answer to those rail users was, "If you would like to start a group, go right ahead!" so it is nice to see that those who want this sort of forum have taken the initiative.
TONSLEY RAIL TIMETABLE CHANGES
From 22 APRIL 2018 the weekday service has increased frequency from half-hourly services to every 20 minutes until 5:30 p.m. when it reverts back to every 30 minutes.
In providing greater frequency, the last train from the city leaves 12 minutes earlier on a weekday:
Last train from the city: 6:30 p.m.
Last train from Tonsley: 7:08 p.m.
There are still no night or weekend services.
The new timetable can be found here: https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/content/download/181516/1013267/file/Seaford_&_Tonsley_train_ttable_routemap_22-04-18.pdf
For more information contact Adelaide Metro:

Adelaide Metro staff also encourage rail users to use the "Rate My Ride" facility on the MetroMATE app. to give feedback because it gets monitored and recorded.
PETITION NEWS
As for the petition, close staff of Hon Stephan Knoll, Minister for Transport have confirmed receipt and awareness of the package. They tell me they are not making forward appointments yet due to "a backlog of work and inundation of media requests" but I will persist.
On 26 February 2018, Member for Elder Carolyn Habib promised that, if elected, "a Liberal Government will pursue ongoing access to public transport for local residents along the Tonsley line." They will "undertake detailed planning for fixing the train stations on the Tonsley line, including options to rebuild the Tonsley train station."
I hope this is part of the Minister's 'backlog'.
THANK YOU for supporting the petition. It remains open so feel free to continue sharing it with your networks and raising awareness of the discussion and the new Facebook Group.
See you on the train!
