If you have not already heard the great news, Massachusetts Governor Healey signed into law the school bus camera bill on January 10, 2025. 

Effective immediately cities & towns can choose to put cameras on the outside of their school buses to capture illegal passing violations. The bill gives local police the authority to use this video evidence to issue citations to drivers who break the law by blowing past the school bus stop sign.

In September of 2022, my safety initiative, S.T.O.P the Operator from Passing started advocating for safer school bus stops after witnessing this dangerous driving behavior daily and it started with this petition.

Many communities are in the process of adopting the law to take the next steps in making school bus stops safer for our students.
