Hello All

During the course of a campaign, you hope to inspire support from any multitude of places, but I never quite saw this one coming.

I have been touched that the efforts in this parish have been championed by none other than The Hairloss GP!

Dr Amy and her team of hair restoration specialists in Belgravia have signed the petition and lodged objections with Wandsworth Council.

In her blog - titled Glassmill One Battersea Bridge Mental Health and Hair Health - she draws a connection with a major building development and, of all things, hair loss. She writes:

The concerns raised by the community are valid. Large-scale developments can cause significant disruptions, from increased noise and traffic to overshadowing of homes and green spaces. These factors can lead to chronic stress and anxiety, which are well-known triggers for hair loss conditions like telogen effluvium and alopecia areata.

Imagine living in the shadow of a giant skyscraper, with construction noise echoing through your streets and sunlight blocked from your windows. The constant stress and uncertainty could easily disrupt your hair growth cycle, leading to noticeable thinning and shedding.

Now, as a journalist of several decades, I am not unfamiliar with the stretching of connections and angles in pursuit of making an article work, so I applaud her creative flare.

I sense that the S.O.B.B campaign has a long way to run and I pray that it grows and grows. That said, I expect there will be many hair-pulling moments ahead. At least I know where to go if it all gets too much!

Regards

RMc
