In the Summer of 2014, Ryan Grepper, a serial entrepreneur started a Kick Starter campaign for a product called the Coolest Cooler.   It turned out to be the most successful Kick Starter in history with over 64,000 backers and $13+ Million raised. The coolers were originally supposed to be shipped in February 2015.   Because of design flaws, production issues and other management issues, the timelines keep slipping every month.   They started shipping in July, but only a fraction of the coolers have been delivered.   While they state that 15,000 have been delivered, I find that number hard to believe based on the number of negative responses from social media. The latest delay is because of a strike in the China factory for the motors.   Though earlier statements indicated that Ryan would have back up suppliers in case anything happened like this, he did not.   Today we all received notice that the best case scenario would be April 2016. Despite all of this, my main problem is not with the delay itself.  Today Ryan made the audacious statement that he was going to start selling the coolers he has in stock online, instead of fulfilling orders from the original backers.  He stated that he has to "keep the lights on" while the product issues are sorted out." I cannot see how it is possible that he has burned through $13 Million, with just a fraction of the coolers made and delivered.   Ryan and his company are obligated to satisfy their backers before they sell even a single cooler.  Otherwise, this is beginning to look like fraud and even a ponzi scheme. Please sign this petition and help me to tell Ryan and his company NOT to sell our coolers that we have already paid for.   Suck it up and fulfill your obligations.
