Every day thousands of Australians are diagnosed with chronic medical conditions like Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Lupus, Diabetes and many more debilitating conditions. Some have the capacity to work while many won't. However their family income is means tested by Human services and they do not qualify for any help. Each time this person visits a doctor they pay a full fee. Each time they fill a prescription it is the full PBS fee. Some medications aren't even subsidized by the PBS.

Families and individuals are spending thousands of dollars per year on medications which will be needed for the rest of their lives.

Respectfully i am requesting that parliament look to making recognized Chronic Diseases and illnesses automatically qualifying for a healthcare card. 

We all know at least one person who has a life long incurable disease, until a cure is found we need to stand together to support each other.
