Every year more of our rugby pitches and clubhouses flood, with a growing number flooding repeatedly in a season. We know this is due to climate destabilisation, and that this is caused primarily by burning Oil, Gas and Coal.

What is less well known, but just as true, is that all this relies on a few big insurers, several of whom are prominent sponsors in UK rugby. Allianz, Gallagher, Aviva and Howden brokers are all quietly profiting from flooding our pitches, clubs & communities while paying rugby unions to burnish their image. Find out more here.

We need to fight back against the increasing flooding of our pitches and clubhouses! Let's show the Unions how many of us care about this and get them to ditch their floody sponsors for good.

We, the fans and grassroots rugby community from across the Home Nations, call on all Unions to drop any and all sponsors who are driving the UK flooding of rugby, before it becomes a full-on crisis. That means at a minimum the following who can be clearly shown as responsible for increasing flooding thorough their business dealings in Oil, Gas and Coal destabilising the climate.

SRU - Scottish Gas (fossil gas)
IRU - Aviva (insurance)

To the Unions: We will no longer stand for you allowing these businesses to use rugby to wash their image even as they profit from washing us away. Show some courage: return their flood money and find clean sponsors, immediately.

To floody sponsors: You should be paying to repair flooded pitches not renaming our biggest ones. Now we know we will never support your businesses again. Fans, their friends and families will be boycotting you and your subsidiaries for life, and in increasing numbers.
