Businesses, land owners, and customers in Reno's MidTown District have seen an unexpected positive result during the construction of Virginia Street. With the current traffic being directed one-way (south) we were given 84 much needed new diagonal parking spaces. This has been a very big draw to customers who want to come to MidTown but are afraid they won't find parking. With the current plan, the RTC expansion will force MidTown to lose 4 very valuable parking spaces in addition to the 84 temporary spaces when completed. We ask that the plan is re-evaluated to make Virginia Street a one-way going south from California Ave. to Mary Street and to keep the diagonal parking that is there now. This will direct north bound traffic to Center Street and Plumas and businesses on those streets will continue to receive better exposure.
