The Justice for Chunky team is still on the job, and we are out in the community making our voices known. Unfortunately, we have had a succession of setbacks, including Brexit and now Covid19. We are aware that the government has taken efforts to better the life of our animal companions; yet, recent reports in the media regarding footballer Kurt Zouma have raised concerns.  Celebrities, for better or worse, have a significant influence on how people especially the youth of today perceive the world. In fact, they can function as role models for young people. However, celebrities such as footballers,  actors, etc., can also serve as negative role models. The video of a celebrity footballer Kurt Zouma kicking his pet cat is not the type of positive influence the youth of today should he seeing. This type of message says it’s ok to abuse an animal noting and nothing will come of it. Rather we a society should be saying enough is enough, we want Justice served!

We endorse the petition written by Matthew Dixon and recognise that when someone wields as much power as this player, society must take measures to communicate that this type of behaviour  is not acceptable and that there will be consequences for your conduct.
